Flu Campaign Winter 2020

We have been working hard as a practice to plan flu clinics for all our eligible patients and this year the process has taken much longer to arrange.

When we will start

From mid-September, based on vaccine delivery dates, we will initially vaccinate children aged 2-3 years old, then from the end of September to all eligible patients such as those aged 65 years and over, and those with specific health conditions and pregnant women.

We are still awaiting further guidance from NHS England about the extended campaign for patients aged 50 – 64 and when this will be delivered (likely to be November or December). Please do not contact the surgery as we will contact you when the information is available.

Please be assured that everyone eligible to receive the flu vaccine will receive a text or letter to invite them to make an appointment. Please click here for eligible cohorts to check if you are eligible for vaccination.

Appointment booking

Updated 4th September – Flu appointments are now available to book online (adult Flu’s only if you have registered for online services), or by calling the surgery on 01285 712377.

Our first Saturday flu clinic will be on Saturday 3rd October 2020 for the over 65’s only. Further Saturday dates will follow for all eligible patients.

Saturday clinics will run slightly differently this year as we will operate a one way system within the surgery to minimise patient to patient contact.

What we ask of patients

When travelling to and from your appointment, please follow government guidelines and maintain social distancing measures at all times.

Please wear a mask or suitable face covering.

Please arrive on time for your appointment as we need to allow a little extra time as we follow infection control measures between patients

Please also wear suitable clothing to be able to expose the top of your arm easily.

Please do not attend your appointment if you are feeling unwell in any way.
